All proceeds from donated cars benefit Activated Ministries, an IRS registered nonprofit organization. Activated Ministries are a Christian charity dedicated to helping those in need, sharing God's Word with others through the distribution of Christian outreach materials and providing support to missionaries of the gospel. 
Vehicles for Charity is owned and operated by the Metropolitan Association of Retarded Citizens, a nonprofit organization formed in 1968 to support developmentally disabled individuals and their families. Its mission is to generate funds that allow all its affilated charities to fulfill their goals and missions a swell as their own. 
Over 2700 charities are listed with V-DAC thus enabling you to reach out to an overwhelming amount of charity organization. V-DAC car donation program tries to control its costs in order to return as much of the gross proceeds to the designated charities. The amount a charity receives varies with the age, condition and type of vehicle. As stated in V-DAC´s site: "From the net recovery amount, the charity receives 75% for vehicles that sell for more than $500 and 70% for vehicles that sell for less than $500. V-Dac receives the remainder as its program management and administration fee. From this amount, V-Dac pays ICA, the "central charity", a 3.75% funds processing fee." |
