The Teddy Bear Cops Program provides thousands of teddy bears to police, fire and emergency vehicles to be given to children who have experienced a catastrophe and are in the grip of trauma, in hopes of preventing or reducing, any lasting emotional damage to those children by easing them away from sliding into a state of shock. Their stated mission is to get teddy bears into the hands of police and fire official across the country, so that they can give a cuddly bear to a stricken child.
